are mental health professionals who believe the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and queer (LGBTQ) identified population
is a desperately underserved population, specifically in the Central Arkansas/Little Rock area. We also believe this is a
universal geographic truth.

Our Staff
Dr. Stacy McBain

Stacy McBain, MD, received her medical
degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences(UAMS)in 2003. She continued her training at UAMS where she completed
her residency in General Psychiatry and is currently completing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. McBain has a special interest in child custody issues, and after completion
of her Child and Adolescent training she will begin a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry. She will be only the second person
to ever complete both of these fellowships at
UAMS.
Her experience includes General
and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at UAMS, Arkansas State Hospital, Little Rock and North Little Rock Veteran's
Hospitals, Arkansas Children's Hospital as well as a private Child and Adolescent Psychiatric hospital.
Dr. McBain has a gay-identified family member, so she is familiar with and sensitive to the unique
challenges this can sometimes pose.
Dr. McBain is organizing a local COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere)
chapter. We will update the site once the chapter is operating. Anyone who is interested in being a member

Angela Bowen, MS, MHPP
Angela Bowen, MS, MHPP received her master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of
Wisconsin-Stout in 2008. Her master’s thesis investigated counseling issues facing sexual minority
youth.
Ms Bowen worked in the field of mental health
until recently, working specifically in a psychiatric clinic for young adults. Ms Bowen was a case manager.
Bowen is LGBTQ identified. Through her personal experiences and research, this has
become a population Ms Bowen is passionate about serving as she feels they are drastically under-served and desperately in
need of support.

lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer-related issues you may be facing.
