Queer Directory

We are mental health professionals who believe the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and queer (LGBTQ) identified population is a desperately underserved population, specifically in the Central Arkansas/Little Rock area. We also believe this is a universal geographic truth.

Our Staff

Dr. Stacy McBain

Stacy McBain, MD, received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences(UAMS)in 2003. She continued her training at UAMS where she completed her residency in General Psychiatry and is currently completing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  Dr. McBain has a special interest in child custody issues, and after completion of her Child and Adolescent training she will begin a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry. She will be only the second person to ever complete both of these fellowships at UAMS.

Her experience includes General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at UAMS, Arkansas State Hospital, Little Rock and North Little Rock Veteran's Hospitals, Arkansas Children's Hospital as well as a private Child and Adolescent Psychiatric hospital.

Dr. McBain has a gay-identified family member, so she is familiar with and sensitive to the unique challenges this can sometimes pose.

Dr. McBain is organizing a local COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere) chapter.  We will update the site once the chapter is operating. Anyone who is interested in being a member of COLAGE or assisting Dr. McBain in the process, please contact her at:
